Information about the transportations
(A) From Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (Airport Code: TPE) to AS campus:
- By Taxi
Taxis queue outside the Arrival Halls of both Terminal I and Terminal II of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Typical fare to Taipei downtown is around NT$ 1,300.
From the airport, you may take a taxi directly to Academia Sinica for around NT$ 1,700. The duration of the ride is about 60 minutes in moderate traffic.
- By Metro + Taxi or Bus
You can take TaoYuan Metro at the airport. Then, switch to MRT Blue Line (Banqiao-Nangang Line) at “Taipei Main Station”, and get off at the terminal stop “Nankang Exhibition Center Station”.
Then you can walk out from the station from Exit No. 5 and take either a taxi to Academia Sinica for about NT$ 100, or go cross the street to take bus route 212, 270, 276, 306, 620, or 645 to the "Academia Sinica Stop".
- By TaoYuan Metro + High-Speed Rail + Taxi or Bus
You can take TaoYuan Metro at the airport. Then, switch to Taiwan High-Speed Rail (HSR) at “Taoyuan HSR Station" and get off at the terminal stop “Nankang Train Station”.
Then you can walk out from the station from Exit No. 1 and take either a taxi to Academia Sinica for about NT$ 100, or go to take bus routes 212, 270, or BL25 to the “Academia Sinica Stop”.
(B) From Songshan Airport (Airport code: TSA) to AS campus:
- By Taxi
The taxi charges by meter. Typical fare from Songshan Airport to Academia Sinica is around NT$ 500.
Duration of the ride: about 30 minutes in moderate traffic.
- By MRT + City Bus:
Take Taipei MRT Wenhu Line (Brown Line) from "Songshan Airport Station" to "Nankang Exhibition Center Station" (the last stop), get out from Exit No. 5 and then cross the street for bus routes 212, 270, 276, 306, 620, or 645, and get off at "Academia Sinica Stop".
