Overview :

The fundamental properties of nuclear matter govern the most extreme environments in the universe. From the microscopic dynamics of the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) in heavy-ion collisions to the macroscopic evolution of neutron stars and the synthesis of elements in stellar explosions, nuclear theory provides the essential link between the subatomic and the astronomical. With the advent of the multi-messenger era, there is a timely opportunity for Taiwan’s theoretical community to integrate its strengths in nuclear many-body theory, QCD phenomenology, and computational astrophysics to address the global challenges in different subfields. This retreat serves as a collaborative forum to synchronize research directions among domestic theorists and invited international experts. The program incorporates brief introductions to the recent research directions and interests of faculty members in domestic institutes, invited overview and research talks by international speakers, and short contributed talks by local postdocs and students. The retreat will emphasize informal discussions and cross-field exchanges of non-trivial ideas and unsolved problems.  

The deadline of registration is April 1st, 2026. No registration fee is required, while the event is expected to accommodate around 30 participants and the registration needs to be approved by the organizers.
